The Purrrfect Surprise
The ease of online shopping is great, but it can sometimes pose a problem. After all, some people sometimes don't remember when they place an order - and sometimes shoppers return home to surprise packages from people they don't even know! This was the case for this shopper, who returned home to find an unexplained package filled with one thing; a cat-themed all-in-one suit. But who bought it for him?
To this day, this cat owner doesn't know. But judging by the contented look on this kitty's face, we can't rule out the idea that this cat may have done it!
Reminder: Always Read Dimensions
If you have a pet but don't live near a pet store, online shopping is probably your saving grace. Online stores such as Amazon and eBay are chock-full of pet food, toys, treats, and more. But if you take one piece of advice from the internet today, make it this: Always read the dimensions! This puppy parent didn't do that when they ordered this bone, and it didn't take long for them to realize their mistake.
Although this bone wasn't exactly what this owner expected to turn up on their doorstep, we bet their dog wasn't too mad about it! They probably thought it was their birthday and Christmas all in one.
Masters of the Unishirt
Clothing is one of the most popular things to buy online. You can buy anything from fancy dress costumes to everyday garments, and most online retailers offer countless sizes for you to choose from. Because of this, these guys thought nothing of the fact that they ordered this rainbow-colored T-shirt in a small. It was something they'd done so many times before, so what could go wrong? Well, quite a lot, actually.
Instead of being sent a small, they received an XXXL - and it's fair to say that it wasn't quite the right size. At least they had fun with it when it arrived, though.
Anyone for a Banana?
Having the ability to order your grocery shopping online is one of the greatest developments of the 21st century, and there's no doubt about the fact that so many people around the world take advantage of this service. And while this person thought they were doing something totally normal when they requested eight bananas in their online grocery order, it seems as though the picker in the store got a little confused.
Instead of eight single bananas, this person was lumped with eight bunches! But that's not all, as they also only got charged $0.68 for all of them. Time to make some banana bread.
Bathmats, Um.... Find a Way
You probably don't need us to tell you that Jeff Goldblum is a legend. And we probably don't need to remind you that Jeff Goldblum in 'Jurassic Park' is iconic. But this couple was pretty surprised when they ordered a navy bathmat online and were greeted with this one instead. Sure, they love Jeff as much as the rest of us, but it wasn't exactly what they ordered - or what they paid for.
However, it seems as though they were pretty happy with their online shopping mishap. Now, every time they shower they can think about this man and his buttonless shirt. There are certainly worse things to think about.
Ding Dong Your Order's Arrived
You can literally buy anything and everything online, which is pretty cool. Of course, this means that a lot of people buy items from online adult sites. But most of the time, these people don't want their neighbors snooping on what they've bought - which is why many companies offer the option of "discreet packaging." This company certainly tried to do that, at least. But it's safe to say that they failed.
While those with an imagination could suggest that this was just a very rigid banana or witch's hat, we think we're all petty confident about what this package really is.
Don't Cry Over Spilled Onions
When life gets in the way, online grocery shopping can be a lifesaver. Maybe you don't have time to go to the grocery store yourself, or maybe you have to stay at home for some reason or another. In this instance, this person in the UK had to stay at home to look after their sick dog. So, they decided to shell out £70 on groceries and assumed that Deliveroo would deliver them to their house.
Unfortunately, the grocery store canceled almost all of the items on their order. And when the Deliveroo driver finally arrived, there was only one thing left; a single onion that their sick dog couldn't even eat!
The Icing Doesn't Bother Us Anyway
In a world of convenience, you can find anything online. Yes, even from bakers who make extraordinary cakes! This can come in handy when you're looking for something bespoke for a big event. And when this person was planning a child's party, they knew that their child would only be happy with an Elsa cake. So, they went in search of an impressive online baker and came across one that seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
Unfortunately, what you see isn't what you get, and what you order isn't exactly what arrives! This Elsa looks as though she's been left out in the sun to melt.
Not Axe-Static About This
Hands up if you've ever ordered something on Amazon? We wouldn't be surprised if you had. This online giant supplies millions of people every single month and seems to sell everything and anything. Yes, even ankle weights! But even though this woman assumed that ankle weights would turn up at her doorstep, what she received was totally different. Instead, she was greeted with a box with Thor's axe inside of it.
Although what she ordered was very different from what she got, we can't help but think that this could still do the job. After all, we bet this axe is still pretty heavy.
Just Can't Bear It
The art of online shopping has changed over the past few years. Now, social media adverts inspire us to buy products based on our likes and internet activity, and they influence people daily. That's exactly what happened when one best friend saw the adorable picture on the left. And as they looked at the cute cat in the bear hat, they of course realized that they needed to buy it for their best friend's kitty.
As you can see, though, the cat didn't exactly approve of what arrived on the doorstep. Not only did it not fit, but it wasn't even the right product! That's definitely not a bear.
Still Cute, Though
Moms are just so precious. They're always thinking of their children and their loved ones, and it's no secret that a lot of moms also love to online shop. So, most kids aren't surprised to turn up at their house to find that their mom has ordered something for them online. It might be some new kitchen towels, an emergency supply of candy, or just a cute cuddly toy to keep their kids company. You know, like this lizard!
While this mom had good intentions when she ordered this lizard for her kid, what arrived was a little different from what they all expected. It's a little muddled, but weirdly still cute.
"Might Have Ordered the Wrong Size"
The ability to online shop has made gift-giving easier than ever. No longer do you have to trawl around stores looking for something that could fit the bill, as you can simply search for what you want to buy online and purchase it with a simple click. And one couple knew exactly what they wanted to buy their nephew, which is how they came to buy this awesome crocodile sweatshirt!
When it arrived, it quickly became clear that they'd ordered the wrong size. But it's not all bad. It still looks super cool, and at least he'll grow into it, right?
Never Trust Technology
We're lucky to live in a world where technology has advanced so much that we know it's pretty trustworthy. Most websites are extremely safe and secure, which means that many people feel confident buying things online from places like Amazon and eBay. Unfortunately, errors do occur - and this person realized this for themselves when their Amazon app froze while they were in the middle of buying something important online.
As the app froze, they repeatedly pressed the "Place Order" button. What they didn't realize was that the app hadn't frozen as much as they thought, and we can only assume their mailman wasn't happy with them.
Those Pesky Fiends
If you order cheap clothing items, you can bet your bottom dollar that it was probably made in China. As one of the biggest distributors of online products, billions of items are shipped out of China every single year - including this T-shirt. The person who ordered this thought they were ordering a 'Friends' T-shirt, but have you spotted what's wrong with it yet? Just keep looking, it'll come to you.
Not only is the 'R' missing in the TV show title, but that isn't even the 'Friends' cast! That's Jerry, Elaine, George, and Cosmo from the equally as awesome TV show 'Seinfeld'.
Just Add Water?
There are two kinds of online shoppers. Some research each item meticulously, looking at the dimensions, the reviews, and the entire write-up of the product. And then some are influenced by Facebook adverts and take pictures at face value. As you can imagine, the latter group of people normally encounter some problems - like this person who ordered this rainbow Christmas tree from a social media advert!
Although they assumed they would be getting a full-size tree, they were ultimately left with a tiny tabletop version. But maybe it grows when you add water? Just a suggestion.
Not a Lot of Flower Power
As well as ordering clothes and your grocery shopping online, you can also buy flowers online! This is perfect for husbands who don't have time to buy anniversary flowers after work, or for those who just can't be bothered to pick their own flowers at the local florist. But one of the downsides of buying online is that you can't physically see the exact product you're buying before you enter your credit card details.
Sure, this person thought they'd get a vase of flowers just like the ones on the left, they were left with some rather drab-looking flowers on the right. They're just not the same.
That's Not Even Close
Everyday people put a lot of trust in the internet when it comes to online shopping, especially when it comes to clothes. We just assume that what we see on the model in the picture is what's going to land on our doorstep, and we hand over our money without a second thought. That's what this person did, too! They fell in love with the red dress and just knew that it would be perfect for their upcoming event.
It seems as though this retailer didn't put any effort into making this dress seem the same, though. The design is totally different, and it's not even red! They didn't even try.
Our Spidey Senses Are Tingling
If you're a fan of a certain movie, TV show, or franchise, you'll be able to find any kind of merchandise online. From clothes to coffee cups, you can guarantee that there's a retailer out there who is selling something related to your favorite things. And when this 'Spider-Man' fan came across this mask, they knew they had to buy it. After all, who doesn't want to turn themselves into their favorite superhero?
But in defense of this product, it does seem as though it was made for children. And this guy seems a little bit older than that - so maybe it's his fault?
"What the Heck, Mom? "
If you have a dog, there's a high chance that you're pretty obsessed with it. Dog parents do everything in their power to give their animals the perfect life, and they're willing to shell out a huge fortune on making them comfortable - especially in the heat! So, when the temperature started to rise in this person's city, they decided to go online and buy a doggy pool inspired by the ad on the left.
Unfortunately, the doggy pool that arrived was just a little too small, and it seems as though this cutie wasn't too impressed. After all, he was looking for a dive pool, not a foot spa!
So Close, but Yet so Far
Everyone has their own likes and dislikes in this world, and it just so happens that some people really want to buy Kawaii stuffed animals. Luckily, there's a huge portion of the internet dedicated to these things, and it's super easy to buy things like Kawaii stuffed pigs. Well, that's what this person thought, anyway. They assumed that when they ordered the pig on the left, that's what they'd receive in the mail.
Instead, it's safe to say that they were pretty traumatized when this hyper-realistic pig plushy came in the mail instead. We don't blame them. This pig is starting to freak us out, too.
A Single Pepperoni Pizza
Do you want to know what the best kind of online order is? It's an online pizza order, of course. Many pizza places near to you will offer this service, which means that it's never been easier to get your cheesy fix. But this person was a little surprised when they ordered a single pepperoni pizza and this turned up on their doorstep. Sure, it does have a single pepperoni on it, but where's the rest?
That's not the only thing that's bothering us, though. What's the green/gray stuff on the bottom left-hand corner of the pizza? That definitely doesn't look like cheese. That looks like mold!
The Big Question, Which One Is Worse?
It's not every day you find someone who wants to order numerous baby Grinchs for their sister's baby shower, but that's the beauty of the internet. This person managed to find some online, and so they decided to order them for the big event. And while she knew that they were going to be creepy and weird - just like they are in the movie - she wasn't expecting them to be quite as creepy and weird.
No, the Grinchs that arrived looked a little different from the ones that she ordered. And we can't actually decide which one we think is worse. Maybe the one on the right.
You Get What You Pay for
One of the best things about online shopping is the fact that, if you do your research, you can always find a cheaper alternative to what you're looking for. You can save some serious money if you know where to look, and that's what this person did when they wanted to buy a new watch. In the end, they settled on this $3 option from Amazon, but they didn't exactly get what they ordered.
It looks as though a six-year-old sent this watch to them in the end, but what did they really expect? What arrived does look like the kind of watch you'd pay $3 for.
Getting the Pink Claws Out
One of the problems with the internet and online shopping is that it's super easy to get catfished. In fact, they made a whole show about it! But it's not just humans who get catfished by other humans. This also happens with humans and baked goods, and this person got seriously catfished when it came to buying a cake to celebrate their beloved pooch. They wanted it to look like the picture on the left.
Unfortunately, the end result barely even looked like a dog. And why did it have pink claws? At least the eyelashes look long and luscious. That's one bonus, we guess.
We Just Can't Bear It
If we asked every person in the world why they were buying a certain item online, we'd never be able to take a break. So, we're not going to ask why someone decided to buy a bear mask online. That was their prerogative, that was their decision, and that was their mistake to make. After all, the bear mask that arrived was totally different from the one that they ordered.
Let's be honest; both of these products are nightmare-inducing products in their own way. The one on the right just looks a little more real - and that's the scary part.
Fail for the Store, Win for the Customer
If you're someone that loves gaming, you'll know that there's no shortage of gaming items online. Most entertainment stores sell them, and you can even buy pre-loved products on the likes of eBay and Facebook marketplace. But this person obviously wanted to buy a brand new PlayStation controller, which is why they decided to buy one from GameStop. But when the package was delivered, they realized that they'd actually been sent four of them!
While this was a serious fail for GameStop, we can't help but think that this was the recipient's lucky day. Although, we're not sure what one person would do with four controllers.
Time for an Espresso, Gromit
Although you can buy anything on the internet, that doesn't mean that you should take everything at face value. If you're looking to do some online shopping, it's best to take the time to realize what you're actually ordering. And if you're looking to order a mug to match with one that you already own, you should definitely do your research and figure out whether it's the right size for what you need!
This 'Wallace and Gromit' lover didn't do that, and so they ended up with a tiny Wallace mug to go with their normal-sized Gromit mug. We guess this is more of an espresso cup.
The Good, The Bad and the Derpy
We live in a world where everything exists. If you can think of it, somebody somewhere has probably made it - and you can probably buy it on Amazon! That's certainly the case when it comes to strange and disproportionate figurines of famous actors and characters from popular culture. On this occasion, one online shopper was tempted by the Clint Eastwood figurine, so they decided to add it to their cart.
They probably should have removed it before adding their credit card details, though. What arrived definitely didn't look like Clint. More like his wannabe cousin with some weirdly large feet.
A Little Too Sensitive
If you do your grocery shopping online, you'll know that it has some serious plus points. But you'll also know that it has a few cons, too. Without going into a store and picking out the items yourself, you can't expect the little details - like whether it's in a security case! And it seems as though the worker who picked this formula out didn't take any notice either, and this customer was left unable to use it.
In the grocery store worker's defense, the formula is sensitive. So maybe it was just too sensitive to be let out of the case! Some things need extra protection, after all.
An Invisible Delivery?
There are a few steps to online shopping, especially if you're someone who orders from Amazon. First, you choose the items you want to buy, and then you pay for them. But before they turn up on your doorstep, you have to put your faith and trust in the Amazon delivery drivers. Of course, a huge portion of Amazon drivers deliver on time and in pristine condition. Some don't quite hit the mark, though.
When this person returned home to what they hoped was an intact package, they were greeted by an open envelope. To make matters worse, the item they bought wasn't even in there!
Did Someone Order Some Salmonella?
There are many services out there for online grocery delivery, but Instacart is perhaps one of the most famous. They pride themselves on delivering groceries on time and without any inaccuracies, and many customers have seen that from them. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. The person who packed this bag obviously wanted to save space and stack the products upright. But should you really do that with raw chicken? Well, no!
The end result was a bag of salmonella, and chicken that they could no longer use. Let's hope they just cut their losses and just threw the whole bag in the trash.
Time to Get the Knives Out
Even when you do your due diligence and meticulously research an online order, mistakes can be made. This is especially true on sites like eBay, where you're sometimes buying from an individual rather than a company. And while this person decided to shell out a small fortune on some decent kitchen knives for the first time in their adult lives, they were pretty disappointed when they were sent something completely different in the mail!
Although the knives they received were from the same brand, they were a much lower quality - and much cheaper than what the person had originally ordered. Time to complain, we think!
We All Scream for Ice Cream
When it comes to cakes, ice cream cake will always reign supreme. And while some people are brave enough to order one of these ice cream cakes online, it seems as though this bravery is a little unfounded. Yes, take this online shopping fail as a warning. It's super easy to order a dud cake, so it's best to just avoid the internet entirely. Head to a bakery, buy it from a grocery store, or make it yourself!
This person didn't do that, and while the bear cake they ordered is slightly cute if you squint your eyes, it's not what they ordered at all. At least it's still a bear, though.
This Inhuman Plack Makes Kuman Monsters
One of the biggest problems with online shopping is that cheaper companies try to find loopholes in terms of plagiarism. Although they can't outright copy the products of larger and more expensive companies, they can make their own knock-offs - and they do this with gusto! While we normally see this in purses and sneakers, it seems as though these companies have even started to knock off the work of Stephen King.
This person thought they were ordering bookmarks, but they ultimately received hilarious knock-offs that don't even make sense. The faces are weird, and the text written on the bookmark doesn't even make sense!
The Force Is Not Strong in This One
With the success of 'Star Wars' and 'The Mandalorian', it probably won't surprise you to learn that the online shopping world is full of merchandise from this franchise. But unless you want to shell out a small fortune to Disney for the official merchandise, you're going to have to find a cheaper alternative. That's exactly what this person did, but they soon realized that cheaper doesn't always mean better. In most cases, it means creepier!
Although they thought they'd ordered the Baby Yoda doll on the left, the one on the right arrived on their doorstep to silently judge and torment them. Seriously, just look at those eyes.
The Fireys or Alf?
People can spend a huge amount of money on online shopping fails if they're not careful. And most of the time, it's almost impossible to get a refund from these dodgy sellers! However, we really hope this customer managed to get some kind of compensation. They bought this Labyrinth-inspired doll for $55 from an online seller, but were a little surprised when a doll that looked like Alf turned up at their house.
Not only was this a totally different size from what the pictures suggested, but it looked like a totally different character! All in all, this wasn't an online shopping fail to be proud of.
Not-So-Poshmark
It's inexcusable when a big company sends you an online shopping fail, but what happens when it's a random person from Poshmark? Although this customer decided to put their faith into the platform and the sellers on it, they had assumed that the Vans shoes that they ordered online would at least offer the bare minimum. They were expecting pre-loved sneakers - and while they weren't expecting them to be in mint condition, they expected more than this.
As if the packaging of these sneakers wasn't bad enough, it looks as though the sneakers are also extremely worn and dirty. Yes, it seems as though they were a scammer!
In the Dog House
We certainly don't claim to know it all, but we can't help but think that there are some things in life that you should buy in person. After all, sometimes buying things online just doesn't allow you to inspect the product or make sure it fits the bill. This is certainly the case when it comes to a dog bed, as you don't want to be left in a sticky situation like this person!
Although they were won over by the pictures of this dog bed online, they were a little shocked when this thing turned up instead. Sure, the resemblance is there - but the real thing just doesn't match up to the picture.
Welcome to Hell, Pumpkin
In today's day and age, most delivery drivers need to provide proof of delivery. Amazon requires all of their delivery drivers to do this, and so customers can see where their packages have been left if they're not in. And while many customers appreciate the care and attention their drivers put into their deliveries, this customer was irate when Amazon took a picture of their delivery while in the middle of throwing it on the porch.
We think the welcome mat sums up this whole ordeal. Welcome to hell, pumpkin; where parcels come damaged and don't actually contain the items you ordered and paid good money for!
You Wish You Got What You Ordered
When it comes to online shopping, some companies sit at the top of the food chain. Companies such as Amazon and eBay normally reign supreme and give customers everything they need. But then there are other companies who sit a bit lower down that same food chain, and there's no doubt about the fact that Wish has a bad reputation. This person realized this for themselves when the white suit they ordered didn't turn up the way they expected.
We bet this person WISHES they got what they ordered. But it seems as though Wish just doesn't grant those kinds of normal and totally appropriate wishes. Sorry about that.
