When You're in Your Own Little Bubble
Let's be honest; runway fashion doesn't look very comfortable. Designers make mini dresses out of plastic, they create tank tops out of tape, and they design clothes out of all kinds of strange and unusual fabrics. And while there's no doubt about this bubble dress with matching hat is one of the most bizarre things we've ever seen, we can't help but think that this outfit looks a little comfortable, at least!
Although this model could quite literally flop herself down onto the floor and let her dress catch her, her face suggests that she's not into this comfortable look. She looks as though she's completely rethinking her life choices.
High Waisted Jeans Gone Too Far
If you've ever seen an influencer in the wild, you'll know that these people love posing up a storm and trying on new outfits. And we don't blame them; it's their job, after all. But we do have to question some of the outfits they wear. Especially when that outfit includes multiple pairs of jeans, including one pair pulled up so high they're acting as a shirt! We can't make it make sense.
We know that the high waisted jeans trend is still here to stay, but do you think she realizes that she may have taken the trend a little too far?
Paging Dr. Pimple Popper
It's no secret that we've all suffered from zits and pimples in the past. And while you may have grown out of your hormonal teenage skin changes, it seems as though the designer behind this red carpet dress wanted to remember this stage of their life and immortalize it in their art. The end result is a plastic thong dress, complete with huge fake zits and boils - and some serious side cleavage.
We don't know how this designer was willing to find such a brave and confident celebrity to wear this dress, but kudos to them for taking one for the team and turning themselves into a giant zit.
At Least It's a Clean Look
Anyone who has watched 'Emily in Paris' will know that this Netflix show is full of outrageous style choices. While some of them have been branded iconic, others have left little to be desired. And it's fair to say that fans were divided over this shower puff design. Sure, Lily Collins can normally pull off any look she's dressed in, but the look hit a little too close to home for bath lovers.
Of course, this evening gown does at least have one good thing going for it. And that's the fact that this is a seriously clean look. Perhaps a little too clean, though.
This Design Will Grow on You
Sure, we love a celebrity red carpet event as much as the next person. But most of the time we don't care about the movie premiere or the awards ceremony. It's much more fun to check out the best and worst dressed, and we can't help but think that this celeb would have definitely ended up on the latter list. Although it's safe to say that this design is growing on us. Actually, it's growing on her!
We can't decide if it looks as though this woman is growing giant oysters or the forest floor on her arms, but one thing we do know is that it looks very uncomfortable.
Even Rihanna Has a Bad Day Sometimes
You probably don't need us to tell you that Rihanna is a style icon. Her red carpet looks have been known to show off her figure, push boundaries, and cause a stir in the fashion world. But if you thought Rihanna was perfect, think again! Although this singing sensation rarely puts a foot wrong, fans were a little confused when she dressed up like this for a Dazed magazine shoot.
It's not every day you see a superstar dress up as a rolled cannabis cigarette, but we guess Rihanna decided to take a fashion risk that day. Did she pull it off, though?
Time to Play Badminton
It's important to remember that models have lives outside of their modeling careers, you know. And this particular model obviously didn't want to be late for her badminton lesson, which is why she went to the runway show dressed as a shuttlecock! Of course, this was actually the look that the designer put her in for the haute couture show, and it certainly made heads turn. It also made the dress turn.
This rotated evening gown is certainly a spectacle, but we would be a little confused if we saw someone walking down the street in one of these. They'd be so cold!
Forget Shish Kebab, This Is Chic Kebab
Many fashion designers take inspiration from the world around them. Some are inspired by nature, others are inspired by historical events, and others are inspired by people they have met along the way. But we can't help but think that the designer behind this high-necked couture dress was inspired by something else. And that something else is a shish kebab. If you don't see it, just look at this comparison!
Either that or this designer wanted their model to look like a waffle cone or pencil shavings. And we guess that's the whole point of art like this. It's totally subjective!
Darth Maul's Long Lost Sibling
Look away if you have trypophobia because you're not going to like this design! Rapper Doja Cat graced Paris Fashion Week with her fiery presence in 2023, and there's no doubt about the fact that she caused a stir. From the red paint and outfit to the 30,000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals over her whole body, she looked straight out of Star Wars. The only thing she seemed to be missing was some horns.
While you do have to admire the confidence of this woman, we bet Doja Cat was finding loose crystals in her bed for weeks or even months after this bizarre fashion moment.
But Does It Have Pockets?
What do you do when you have to attend a fashion show at 1 pm but can't miss your daily 2 pm naptime? Well, it seems as though this woman has found the perfect solution! This sleeping-bag-inspired gown is unlike anything we've seen, as she really does look as though she'd be ready for any napping opportunity. She even has a pillow on her head for extra comfort when she needs it.
Sure, this design looks pretty comfortable, but it's also pretty strange and doesn't look as though it has pockets. And we hate to say it, but that's a dealbreaker for us.
That Post-Bathroom Rush
We love a maxi dress as much as the next person, but there's something about this particular look that leaves us scratching our heads. Perhaps it's the mixture of fur and leather, or perhaps it's the fact that actress Bella Thorne looks as though she's been caught in that post-bathroom rush. Yep, it looks as though she got up from the toilet a little too quickly, and forgot to pull her clothes back up!
While this outfit would have been pretty cool with just the shorter mini-dress, the bottom part just seems like an afterthought. But at least her shoes match the dress.
No Top? No Problem!
Getting ready in the morning is such a chore. Sure, some people love the art of putting together an outfit that suits their style and the dress code, but most of the time it's just another stress to add to the day. We can only assume that this woman was so stressed out by the fact that she couldn't find a top to go with her jeans that she decided to do away with the top completely!
This denim jumpsuit looks as though she's pulled her jeans up way too high, and it doesn't show off her figure at all. But at least she belted the jeans, we guess.
Introducing the Creature From the Black Lagoon
The fashion world is ruthless. Designers can spend decades trying to get their name out there, and one wrong look can ruin their career in an instant. Because of this, they try to create original pieces that stand out from the crowd - and this look certainly does that. From the crop top to the maxi skirt with the train to the balaclava, this whole look is out of this world.
In fact, we can't help but think that this woman looks a little like the Creature from the Black Lagoon. The only thing she's missing is some gills on the side of her neck.
$450 and This Could Be Yours
We totally understand why some clothing is so expensive. Especially when they're designed by esteemed designers who are extremely well respected in the fashion world! But as much as we understand the price tag associated with ornate evening gowns and tailored suits, we don't understand pieces like this. This $450 "skirt" is simply a load of rope tied together in a rather attractive pattern. Surely you could make that yourself?
We have a feeling that you could head to Home Depot, pay $10 for some rope, and create this look yourself at home. Of course, that's if you even want to.
The Crows Have Eyeliner
In today's day and age, celebs seem to be in constant competition with each other. Not only in terms of their careers but also in terms of their outfits. Every red carpet event is a chance to outdo each other on the bizarre-o-meter, and it seems as though Blac Chyna put her foot in the race during this Grammy's appearance. With her black feathered wings and her dark eyeliner, she looked straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
Blac Chyna actually looks pretty scary in this outfit, and we're forcing ourselves to keep our eyes open right now. We're convinced that if we blink, she'll come to get us.
Tying the Knot, Quite Literally
There's nothing more exciting than seeing a celebrity's wedding look. From extravagant and expensive wedding gowns to casual elopement dresses, these looks are always iconic. And while wedding outfits are normally romantic and ethereal, the designer behind Cat McNeil's wedding dress took her nuptials a little too literally. As she tied the knot, she quite literally wore some pieces of fabric tied together into a knot. And it left little to the imagination.
We're not quite sure whether this designer simply forgot to finish the gown or whether this was the intended product, but congratulations to the happy couple are still in order.
When in Doubt, Use All of the Patterns
No matter your political stance, there's no doubt about the fact that many people believe Dr. Jill Biden has an impressive fashion style. With a love of sustainable American designers, Jill often wears evening gowns and dresses that show off her figure and maintain an air of professionalism. But fans were a little bemused when Jill stepped out in this particular dress, and they found the whole look unusually familiar.
After racking their brains, fans knew where they'd seen this look before. They'd seen it in their bathrooms, and in the mall! She doesn't even look happy to be wearing it.
Pretty Woman or Edward Scissorhands?
Fashion trends are constantly changing, and sometimes it's hard to keep up. One day mini dresses are in style, and the next day you're cutting mini dresses in half and then tying them back together for the sake of fashion! This dress is unlike anything we've ever seen, and we can't tell whether it's giving us serious Julia Roberts from 'Pretty Woman' vibes, or whether she's looking more like Edward Scissorhands with those nails.
Although we have so many questions about the dress, we just can't forget about these nails. How do you get anything done with those talons? Going to the bathroom must be a nightmare.
A Cut-Out Above the Rest
When you were younger, you may have made your own Christmas decorations - and it was pretty fun, right? Your mom would give you some plain white paper and some scissors, and you'd be able to make snowflakes with just a few cuts here and there. Well, it seems as though the designer behind this sweater dress had the same idea when they were gearing up to design this cut-out dress.
Although this dress was supposedly designed for people who like compliments, it's a little strange to receive compliments when people can literally see your underwear. And it's not even matching.
A Wedding Dress for the Ages
Fashion has changed and progressed over the course of history, but that doesn't mean that modern looks are all the rage. Some designers take old-school trends and rework them to suit their own style, and it looks as though the designer behind this wedding dress was inspired by the 80s puffed sleeve and the ruffles of the Victorian era. And while the top half actually looks nice, what's going on down below?
Although transparent clothing has taken the world by storm over the years, the bottom half of the dress looks slightly unfinished. Is there another layer missing? We sure hope so.
An Art Project Gone Wrong
Nowadays, designers are all about sustainability. They're using recycled materials, they're straying away from fur and leather, and they're repurposing old clothes into new wonders. And it seems as though this designer had the same idea! Instead of throwing away all of their scraps of fabric, they decided to instead turn them all into a whole look. This is the end result, and it's certainly in a world of its own.
While our brains immediately thought of Oscar the Grouch when looking at this outfit, you can't deny that this designer hasn't thought about sustainability with this look. It's giving homeless couture.
This Is Why You Shouldn't Have a Cat
Model and actress Cara Delevingne is known for her impressive style. She can pull off everything from fancy evening gowns to casual streetwear, and we thought there was nothing she couldn't make cool. But it seems as though we thought wrong because the look below has taught us a lot about fashion faux pas. It's also taught us that you should never leave your cat alone in your closet if you know what's good for you!
Of course, we know that this glorified bikini look wasn't really ravaged by a cat, but it certainly looks that way. Nothing else explains that tangled mess of black rope.
How to Stay Prepared in the Kitchen
When creating an outfit, designers have to be precise. The same can be said for cooking. Too long in the oven and your food can burn - which is why you always need to be on hand with some oven gloves or pot holders to take your food out as soon as possible. We can only assume that this woman always wanted to be prepared in the kitchen. How else can you explain this outfit?
It looks as though her dress has been made from potholders that have been tied together, which is pretty practical. The designer obviously went for substance over style for this look.
Had a Rough Night?
Ruffles have always had their place in fashion history. Sometimes they've been hot, other times they've been not, but they've always come back into the fashion realm with a bang. So, we're not surprised to see a ruffled mini dress. We are, however, a little surprised to see a ruffled mini dress that looks as though it's had a fight with a tumble dryer. It's completely falling apart at the seams!
To make matters even worse, model Kaia Gerber looks as though she could mop the floors with those ruffled shoes. Who knows, though? Maybe that's what they were designed for.
Styling Out the Super Bowl
Singer Kelly Clarkson is known for her impressive pipes and her television appearances, but she decided to pull out all of the fashion stops in 2023 for the Super Bowl LVII. She could have worn anything she wanted, but for some reason, she opted to wear this kitschy jersey-inspired gown in honor of the Dallas Cowboys. In theory, this could have been quite cool. But fans were divided, and a little confused.
Perhaps the biggest question fans had was... why? After all, the Dallas Cowboys didn't make it to the Super Bowl that year. Talk about rubbing salt into the wound, Kelly.
Time for the Midsommar Party
Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking! But in all seriousness, florals have always had their place in the fashion world. From strange runway pieces to off-the-rack florals, they're everywhere. They're even on the red carpet, and this celebrity decided to wear this floral number when a famous designer offered it to her. And while it's giving off serious 'Midsommer vibes' we can't help but think that this design is actually quite pretty.
Sure, there are a few too many flowers and the tulle-puffed sleeves are a bit over-the-top, but the dress seems like the ultimate homage to the natural world. Let's hope there were no bees around, though.
Having a Lot on Your Chest Plate
There are two kinds of people in this world. There are those who prefer flowing clothes that subtly accentuate their figure, and then there are those who prefer to wear form-fitting clothes that hug their curves perfectly. Of course, there's always going to be a group of people who fit in the middle of those categories, and this woman seems to be one of them. After all, she's got the best of both worlds here.
Although this outfit is definitely not for everyone, the unusual design offers a flowing skirt with a breastplate top at the same time - and it's pretty unique! Do you like it?
Whoopsie Goldberg
Do you ever wonder whether celebrities look back at some of their red carpet looks and cringe? Well, we have a feeling that Whoopi Goldberg does. The actress wore this infamous dress-turned-jumpsuit at the 1993 Oscars, and people had a lot to say about it. From the bizarre color combinations to the skirt over the pants, many wondered whether she'd gotten into a disagreement with the fashion designer who made this outfit.
Despite the fact that this look gave Whoopi the chance to sit atop the Worst Dressed list that year, there's no doubt about the fact that people have remembered it.
Go Birds!
If you ever have the privilege of buying a bespoke wedding dress, it's important to find a designer you can connect with. Perhaps you love their previous work, maybe you're old friends, or maybe you just have the same hobbies and interests. This Eagles-obsessed bride obviously thought she'd struck gold when she found a designer who also loved the sports team, as she ended up with a dress that paid homage to her idols.
Those who don't support this team will obviously think this is the worst thing that's ever been designed, but Eagles fans are probably shouting "GO BIRDS" at the top of their lungs right now.
The Award for the Strongest Head Goes to...
Anya Taylor-Joy is someone that can get away with being kooky and quirky - and there's no doubt about the fact that she takes advantage of that! She gives her designer friends complete freedom when it comes to the outfits she's dressed in. But we can't help but think that maybe she should start reigning them in slightly. For the sake of her neck, anyway. Outfits like this must leave her in so much pain.
In fact, there's more material sitting atop Anya's head than there is covering her actual body! The mini-dress is pretty cute on its own, though. And she looks pretty warm.
Keeping the Mosquitoes Away
Everyone has their own sense of style, and you can bet your bottom dollar that there are designers out there who suit everyone's taste. And it seems as though this lady wanted to go for more of an ethereal look for this Grammy Awards ceremony. Luckily for her, one designer had the perfect dress to suit the occasion. Even better, it also doubled up as a mosquito net to protect her legs!
Okay, this wasn't actually designed as a mosquito net, but the bottom of this dress certainly looks as though it's been taken straight from inside a safari tent. We guess it's multi-purpose.
When You Can't Decide on the Vibe
Women have so many choices when it comes to their clothing. From skirts and dresses to pantsuits and jumpsuits, there are so many different clothing options on offer. But have you ever been in one of those situations where you just can't decide whether you want to wear your power suit or your pretty dress? This designer seemed to use that moment as inspiration for this particular look, and it's utterly bizarre.
The dress on its own is absolutely beautiful. Even the jacket is pretty cool - if it was in its full form! Separately they're stylish, but together they just don't seem to work.
Caught in a Trap, Can't Look Back
The little black dress is timeless. It's sleek, it's sophisticated, and it's totally open to interpretation. Over the years, many designers have tried to make their own mark on the little black dress, and it seems as though the creative mind behind this dress decided to do just that. But we have to assume that her designer was just stringing her along with this idea, right? This can't be serious.
This dress is just asking for trouble, really. Nobody wearing this around door handles, cats, long nails, or flammable liquids would be safe. It's just a disaster waiting to happen.
They're Creepy and They're Kooky
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you'll know that Netflix's 'Wednesday' took the world by storm. On-screen, the characters and their clothing bowled fans over - but it seems as though the same can't be said in real life! This actress should have double-checked what her designer wanted her to wear before she donned the red carpet, as fans instantly called her out for the strange design.
This dress is the perfect example of being almost pretty. We love the buttons on the dress and the nods to the show, but the color palette reminds us of an awful '80s prom movie.
Do You Like Compliments?
This must be a joke, surely? Of course, we all like compliments. And people who take pride in their appearance and their overall style especially love compliments about their clothes. But the first thing that most of us learned about fashion is that you should always wear a shirt with a skirt - which makes this design totally bonkers. It looks as though this woman didn't have time to finish off her whole outfit!
Of course, we're all up for changing the fashion game - and if this was a nice skirt this could have looked cool. Unfortunately, we don't think she'll be receiving any compliments.
For When You're Feeling Patriotic
If you live in the United States and consider yourself to be patriotic, you might have thought about supporting your country through your clothing. But sometimes wearing the Star-Spangled Banner as a scarf is a bit obvious, and so people try and find a happy medium between normal clothing and patriotism. That's why the designer behind this dress probably thought they hit the nail on the head with this red, white, and blue number.
But while the colors are there, there's something about the overall shape and the details of this dress that just make us feel a little nauseous. The slits are too high, there's too many cut-outs, and it's all over the place.
An Unfortunate Vomit Dress
Everyone has their own sense of style, and while some people prefer to wear clothes that are more subtle, there are others who go all out. They showcase their personality and their hobbies in their clothes, and that's why dresses like this exist. And while we're sure that someone out there is looking for a dress that features some marijuana in a ziplock bag, the design isn't exactly obvious on this particular item of clothing!
At first glance, it looks as though this purple-haired woman has simply vomited all over her outfit. It's pretty unfortunate, and it's pretty gross. At least she doesn't seem too phased about it.
Making the Pregnancy Pop
Over the course of pop culture history, celebrities have often felt the need to cover up their pregnancy with strategic outfits. They wear loose-fitting evening gowns, they avoid mini dresses, and they carry giant purses to hide their bumps. But times have changed, and fashion designers are now creating looks for celebs who want to show off their pregnancy bodies. Jessie J was one of them, and her Brit Awards outfit certainly caused a stir.
Although most fans loved the singer's confidence, they weren't too keen on the outfit itself. From the giant ruffles to the oil lamp purse, it was red overload. And it didn't go down well.
Expensive Clown Couture
Let's be honest; designer clothes aren't cheap. Although rich celebrities can buy designer clothes without even looking at the price tag, the average Joe often needs to take out a second mortgage to afford them. But luckily, expensive clothes aren't always desirable. Take a look at this clown couture, for example! A red sequin dress could have been cute, but the details took it from pretty to pitiful in seconds.
The designer probably should have thought twice before adding the pink feathers and the giant bow, but it seems as though they were pretty happy with their decision. So much so that they were willing to charge over $3,000.
Introducing the Mullet Dress
We already know that clothes are often inspired by other things in the world, but have you ever heard of a dress being inspired by a hairstyle? Ok, so we're not sure that this dress was actually inspired by a mullet - but it certainly looks that way! The only difference is that this mullet dress is a much brighter color than the mullets we're used to seeing on stage at rock concerts.
Although this dress would have been impressive if it was all one length, the asymmetric design is putting us off. That's before we even mention the strange glasses she's wearing on her face.
