1. Borrow your Grandma’s Rollers
After using your favorite shampoo and conditioner, use a towel to gently absorb the excess water (never rub the towel on your head). Comb your hair with either a brush or a wide-toothed comb. You want to use the largest hair rollers possible. Use a comb to prepare your wet hair into sections, roll them from the ends and use a bobby pin to secure each roller firmly against your scalp.
You can sleep with the rolls on. If you do, you should wrap your hair in a scarf to avoid any friction between your hair and your pillow which could totally mess up your hair. Silk would be ideal, and definitely no plastic!
Once your hair is completely dry, as moisture can ruin all your efforts, unroll gently and comb your hair again. You can add a bit of argan or coconut oil to hair to smooth it further.

2. Aloe Vera Mask
Aloe vera properties are well known, particularly for the hair. Aloe vera will help your hair to grow and keep it smooth. Once a week, you can easily make a potion with a warm half a cup of coconut oil or olive oil with half a cup of aloe vera gel. Apply to your hair and let the magic happen for at least 40 minutes. Then simply wash your hair using your favorite shampoo.
3. Make a Bun
This is a fairly easy technique. First, you should know, it works best on people who don’t have massive curly hair to start with. After your traditional shampoo and conditioner, dry the excess water (do NOT rub the towel) and make a ponytail with your hair and slowly twist it into a bun. Then wrap your head into a scarf, preferably a silk one and go to sleep. Be smart and place the scarf in the best way according to your preferred sleep position. Use a bobby pin to prevent it from moving. Once the hair is dry, brush it gently.
4. Embrace the Power of the Coconut
Coconut is delicious, but also extremely moisturizing and that’s the part we are more interested here. There is a bit of cooking here, so put your apron on! In a pan, heat a can of coconut milk with two tablespoons of olive oil. Meanwhile, juice a lemon and mix the juice with two tablespoons of tapioca flour or cornstarch. Once it's well combined, add it to the pan. Once it reaches the consistency of a thick sauce, transfer to a bowl and let it cool a little. Apply to your hair with a paintbrush. Let it rest for at least 50 minutes and then wash it off with your favorite shampoo and conditioner. Do this once a week.
